Program description
Students can choose between two specialisations:
- Economics of Central and Eastern Europe
- International Business Management
The first-cycle studies in International Economics at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics provide the knowledge and develop the skills necessary to start a career in diverse entities, including central and local government administration, public institutions and NGOs operating internationally as well as manufacturing and service companies maintaining contacts with partners abroad. The programme also enables the students to conduct an independent business activity whose scope includes foreign markets. The studies form a good theoretical and methodological basis for the second-cycle studies.
The graduate of the first-cycle studies in the field of International Economics at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics:
Knowledge:
has knowledge of the world economy, including the economy of the European Union,
has knowledge of the international competitiveness of economy, finance, accounts and international transactions,
has knowledge of management and international marketing, selected entities focused on international operations,
Skills:
can apply the acquired knowledge in a practical manner to solve simple problems concerning entities involved in international activities, uses basic techniques of data collection and methods of analysis in studies of the world economy and the economies of countries and their groups, is able to accomplish simple research tasks and identify factors of international competitiveness of countries and companies, as well as to conduct international transactions,
Social competencies:
recognizes the significance of international determinants of the position of countries and companies,
displays initiative and self-reliance in business activity,
demonstrates responsibility for work performed personally as well as by others.
